Promethium has offset its 2008-2009 carbon footprint by collaborating with Earth Patrol in a Voluntary Emission Reduction (VER) generating project. The project occurred at the Klein Helderkruin retirement village in the West of Johannesburg in September 2009.  562 energy inefficient incandescent lamps were replaced with compact fluorescent lamps.  329 VERs were generated from the project.  60 of the Earth Patrol VERs will be used to offset the Promethium footprint of 59.3 tons CO2e for the 2008-2009 financial year.
